Trial Lessons
A trial lesson is a fantastic way to experience at first hand the thrill of taking to the skies in the cockpit of an aircraft. With a professional and highly experienced instructor at your side, you will have the chance to pilot one of our dual-control high-wing Cessna or low-wing Piper aircraft yourself!
All of our trial lessons begin with a pre-flight briefing in the club house. After a walk around the aircraft and when you are comfortably seated in the cockpit, you will be instructed on basic taxiing, take-off, and how to maintain straight and level flight. Finally, back in the club house after your flight, your lesson concludes with a de-brief.
Should you wish to consider progressing to formal flight training lessons, your trial lesson flight time will be recorded in your own complimentary Pilot’s Log Book, and will count toward the flight time you will require to gain your Private Pilot’s Licence.
Skyward Flight Training believe that anyone should be able to experience the thrill of flying. There a few age or fitness restrictions when flying with an instructor, although we recommend that students should be reasonably healthy, and ideally be less than 6ft 4in tall, and up to 16 stones in weight.
For trial lessons in the PA28 aircraft, up to two additional passengers may accompany the student and instructor for a small additional charge.
Temporary club membership is included with all trial lessons.

Please be advised that from 31/05/2023 trial lessons will not be able to be taken at Rougham due to the owners of the estate not choosing to maintain it as an airfield and not renewing our lease.
